About Appin

Appin is a small village and countryside on the shores of Loch Linnhe on the west coast of Scotland.  With spectacular landscapes, this area offers a great variety of activity and recreation. Appin is loved by bikers and hikers, kayakers and sailers, hill climbers and hunters, photographers and painters. Appin is the home to the famous Castle Stalker (see photo) which sits on a small island off the shore. Castle Stalker is one of the most photographed castles in Scotland. From Port Appin you can take the passenger ferry to the Isle of Lismore, only a 4 min boat trip.  Lismore is rich in history & heritage and a great place for a day's walk or a bicycle tour.
